Obituary for Mary T. Barker

Mary Theresa Barker, 53, of 52 Third Street, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, May
29, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born a twin on January 3, 1960, the first twins of 1960 born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Lillian M.J. Seymour Barker.
Miss Barker was a 1978 graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield where she was a four-year member of their award winning marching color guard. Continuing her education, she graduated from Berkshire Community College 1997 with an associate's degree in criminal justice.
While in Springfield, she had been a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield and had volunteered as a CCD teacher.
Miss Barker loved nurturing deep and lasting friendships. She enjoyed raising
love birds and rescuing cats. She also enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycling on the
open road.
Although no children of her own, Miss Barker leaves her adored nine nieces and nephews and her six grandnieces and grandnephews.
Miss Barker is also survived by her twin sister, Anne-Marie Barker of Ludlow; and three brothers, Thomas F. Barker and his wife, Karen of Dalton, N.H., Roger E. Barker of Monson, Mass., and Joseph M. Barker and his wife, Michele, of East Longmeadow.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Services for Mary Theresa Barker will be private. There are no calling hours.
The DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.
