MARTIN G. McDONOUGH, 75, of who was born in Pittsfield, on June 20, 1922, the son of Gilbert and Agnes Martin McDonough went home to heaven in the early-morning of March l2th.
Marty was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School and honorably discharged
from the United States Air Force on November 30, 1955. He proudly served for four
years during the Korean conflict and was quickly promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On an early Summer's day, he retired from "Sears and Roebuck" where he worked and helped his family throughout all of their days for 37 years. He retired in
1992. In God's Hands, he left his message and influence with his beloved wife, Marilee They were married and put into God's Arms on July 6, 1963, at St. Mary the Morning Star Church in Pittsfield.
He also leaves his two sons; his first son is Patrick Michael and his second, Shawn Martin. He was extremely devoted and proud of both of them. Besides his wife and his sons, he is survived by a sister, Patricia Keyes, and her
husband, William of Pittsfield; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Myers and his wife, Carol; his
godson, Kenny Myers; his sister-in-law, Sharon Ostellino and her husband, Victor; and
many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Martha "Jacie" Moran.
Marty cherished his time with his family and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. He was and will be remembered by many whom he helped and lent a hand over the years.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a former member of the St.
Joseph Council. He was also a long-standing member of the American Legion Post 68.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for MARTIN G. McDONOUGH, who died Thursday, March 12, will be Monday, March 16, at 9:45 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m, at St. Joseph Church con-celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor, and Rev. Thomas B. Begley. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. McDonough may be made to St. Joseph Church Parish Center Fund in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
