Obituary for Marjorie B. Winslow

Marjorie B. Winslow, 86, of 18 Burr Drive, Dalton, MA passed away at home on Monday, October 24, 2016. Born on May 25, 1930 in Nashua, New Hampshire she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Irene Fifield Wilcox. A longtime Dalton resident, she was educated in Nashua, NH schools and was a 1948 graduate of Nashua High School. She later attended Berkshire Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Selected Studies in 1985. She married her husband, the late Richard B. Winslow on March 17, 1951 in Nashua, NH and they enjoyed fifty-nine years of a wonderful marriage. He passed away on August 14, 2010. A homemaker, she had worked at one time as an aide at the Dalton Free Public Library and as a home health aide at both Elder Services and the Visiting Nurses Association. Mrs. Winslow was a member of Dalton United Methodist Church where she also served as a past president of the Women's Club. She also belonged at one time to the Square Dancing Club and the Dalton C.R.A. Bowling League. An accomplished piano player, she enjoyed many evenings playing the piano with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and knitting and had knitted squares for afghans that were donated to area shelters. She leaves her daughter; Paula C. Moone and her husband David of Dalton, MA. Three sons; Arthur D. Winslow and his companion; Karen W. Bondarchuk of Kalamazoo, Michigan, George D. Winslow and his wife Kathy of Greenfield, MA and Howard P. Winslow and his wife Martha of Newington, CT. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves her dear friend and caregiver; Judy Tobler of Pittsfield and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Marjorie B. Winslow of Dalton, MA who passed away on October 24, 2016 will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. A private graveside service will take place in Ashuelot Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Winslow may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to the Dalton Lions Club both in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
