Obituary for Marjorie Spiers June

Marjorie Spiers June, 94, of Sugar Hill, Dalton, Massachusetts, formerly of Stamford, CT, died on
September 8, 2014. Born in Stamford, CT on April 26, 1920, daughter of Olive Lockwood Spiers and
Arthur E. Spiers, she was educated in Stamford schools and was a graduate of Stamford High School.
She was employed by American Cyanamid Company and by Dr. Edmond Kent as a receptionist.
On July 4, 1941 she wed Ralph DuFraine June of Stamford, and they were happily married until his death
October of 1980. She is pre-deceased by her brothers Malcolm and Everett Spiers.
She enjoyed sewing clothing for her family and made both of the wedding dresses for her two
daughters. She took great joy in gardening and delighted in spending time with her 13 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Marion Kretz of Chicago, IL; Ralph D. June, Jr. and his wife Kiela of
Chilhowie, VA; Richard O. June and his wife Lynn of Columbia, TN; Marsha June Schulte and her husband
John of Dalton, MA; a niece, Gwen Ketchum and her husband Raymond of Stamford, CT as well as by her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marge's family would like to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation to the staff of Sugar Hill in
Dalton, MA where she lived for many years. She was comfortable and well cared for there and enjoyed
the company of many residents. Of late she especially enjoyed the activities and companionship of the
staff. She was thoughtfully and compassionately cared for by the medical staff at Berkshire Medical
Center as well.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Burial will be private at the discretion of the family, and her ashes will be interred at Roxbury Cemetery in Stamford next to her husband. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial
contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Roxbury Cemetery Association
in Stamford, CT both in care of the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226 which is handling arrangements.
