Obituary for Marjorie L. Bruno

MARJORIE L. BRUNO, 63, of 39 Eric Drive, Pittsfield, died Sunday morning
at her home where she had resided for the past 33 years. Born in Dalton, August 27, 1943, a daughter of Edward and Ethel Beals Flynn,
she was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1961 graduate of Wahconah Regional
High School. She was a 1965 graduate of the Henry W. Bishop School of Nursing and in 1983,
earned a bachelor of science degree in social work from the former North Adams State College now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
Mrs. Bruno was a VietNam War veteran who served as a Second Lieutenant with the United States Air Force from September 5, 1967 to May 29, 1968.
A registered nurse by profession, Mrs. Bruno was employed by Berkshire Medical Center as a psychiatric nurse in its Jones Unit. She retired in 2000 with 30 years service. She had also worked in social services where she started the adult foster care program. She was a communicant of St Agnes Church in Dalton. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, and visiting the beaches at Wildwood, New Jersey, and St. Petersburg, Florida.
She leaves her husband, Frank R. Bruno, whom she married August 27, 1966, in St. Agnes Church; three daughters, Erin M. Bruno of Bloomfield, New Jersey, Patricia L. Cooper of Pittsfield, and Tracy E. Bruno, of Pittsfield; a sister, Rosemarie Flynn, of Pittsfield, and a grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for MARJORIE L. BRUNO, who died Sunday, October 15, will be Thursday, October 19, at 10:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church in Dalton, celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home, in Pittsfield.
Mrs. Bruno enjoyed being with her family and friends, and also leaves her son-in-law, Matthew S. Cooper, and a grandson, Jacob M. Cooper.
