Obituary for Marilyn H. Squires

Marilyn "Lynn" H. Squires, 77, formerly of Rose Manor in Pittsfield, MA died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. A longtime resident of Pittsfield she had resided at Hillcrest Commons of Pittsfield for the past three years. She was born on November 4, 1929 in Sunderland, VT a daughter of the late Alfred and Clara Hon Hazelton. She was educated in Vermont schools and was a 1948 graduate of Bennington High School in Vermont. She was employed as a marketing technician for twelve years with Information Resources, a marketing research company in Pittsfield, MA. She retired in 1994. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She leaves two daughters; Wendy D. Nickerson of Dalton, MA and Jackie LeClair of Pittsfield, MA. Three sons; John E. Squires Jr. of Hinsdale, MA, and Mark W. Squires and Scott H. Squires both of Pittsfield, MA. Five sisters; Isabelle Ringer of Deland, FL, Rose Milot of East Greenbush, NY, Flora Duffer of Inkon, Indiana, Ann P'are of the State of Tennessee and Elsie Goerner of Dustin, FL and a brother; James Bump of the State of CT. She also leaves her former husband; John E. Squires Sr. of Pittsfield, MA. Fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Marilyn "Lynn" Squires, 77, who died May 26, 2007, will be held Thursday at 5 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, MA conducted by the Rev. William Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel in Lanesboro, MA. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 5 PM prior to the service at the Dery Funeral Home. Lynn enjoyed being with her fourteen grandchildren; Mark W. Squires II, Matthew W. Squires, John E. Squires III, Matthew J., Justin E., Nicholas T., Trevor N., Shenna, Shawna L., and Sarah C. Squires, Dakota and Dawson LeClair, Dawn Sickell and Cari-Lee Duguay as well as her five great grandchildren; Kyle Turner, Hunter Duguay, Jayden Squires, and Dylan and Haley Sickell. She was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
