Obituary for Marilyn Ann McLaughlin
Marilyn Ann McLaughlin, 89, of Pittsfield, passed away February 17, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on February 11, 1932 she was the daughter of John “Pete” and Marguerite Mozenier Gilligan.
Marilyn attended Pittsfield schools and was a 1949 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married Thomas L. McLaughlin on April 26, 1952 at St. Mark’s Church in Pittsfield. He predeceased her on June 7, 2011.
Mrs. McLaughlin was employed as a secretary for AdLib for many years. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, she enjoyed needle work, knitting, gardening and reading and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her daughters, Maureen A. Powers and husband David of Jacksonville, FL, Kathleen M. McLaughlin of Pittsfield, and Mary P. McLaughlin and her significant other Mark of Pittsfield. Sons, Michael T. McLaughlin and wife Carol of Wrentham, MA, John W. McLaughlin of Pittsfield, Thomas P. McLaughlin and wife Pam of Fort Wayne, IN, Patrick J. McLaughlin of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren, Jayme, Nicole, Matthew, Bryanna, Ashley, Alyse, Alexa, Kristopher, Patrick, Lauren, Courtney, Jayden, Lyndsay, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brooks, Collins, Grace, Easton and a great-grandchild arriving soon. As well as her nephews, David and Tim Webb. She also leaves her beloved dogs, Bo and Qyn.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Kellie A. McLaughlin; a brother, John Gilligan, and a sister, Rita Webb; and a granddaughter, Amanda Salyer.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held THURSDAY, February 25, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
