Obituary for Marie D. Higgins
Marie Higgins, 84, Dalton, MA, went to be with the Lord, on February 25, 2022. She was at home surrounded by her children.
Born in Becket, MA to Lubert and Lillian LaMontagne Lampro. She was a graduate of Dalton High School, 1955.
She married Joseph T. Higgins on 09/28/1963. She was predeceased by her husband, 07/22/2010, sisters Patricia Quillard, 01/10/2018, and Victoria, 1965. Mrs. Higgins was a homemaker. For a brief time she was an aide at St. Luke’s Hospital and Dalton Nursing Home.
She had a deep love for her family. She enjoyed nature, bird watching, especially hummingbirds.
Mrs. Higgins is survived by her daughters, Patricia/James Fortini, N Fort Myers, FL, Catherine/Pramod Warriar, Pittsfield, Jennifer/Richard Overbaugh, Bokeelia, FL. Sons, Joseph Higgins, Pittsfield and Thomas Higgins, Dalton. Beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Dalton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield to help defray costs.
