Obituary for Marie M. Herforth

Marie Marion Herforth,79, of Summit Avenue, Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield on December 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Francis P. and Oraslina Tanganelli Moretti, Sr. She was a 1952 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Herforth had been employed during the 1980's at Chemex as an assembler and had been employed as a sales clerk at Newberry's prior to that for ten years. She enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun, travelling, and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Herforth married Richard L. Herforth on April 14, 1955.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Herforth is survived by her three sons: Frank Herforth of Pittsfield, Gary Herforth and his wife Kathleen of Pittsfield, and David Herforth and his wife Marcia of Peru, MA; two sisters: Lorraine Dougherty of Pittsfield, and Sandra Roche and her husband John of Pittsfield; one brother: Sam Ardia and his wife Vicky of Pittsfield; five grandchildren: Robert Herforth, Shaun Herforth, Jonathan Herforth, Brianna Herforth, and Amanda Goodermote; and two great-grandchildren: Robert Herforth and Hailey Lussier. She was pre-deceased by her son: Dennis Herforth and her two brothers: Caesar Moretti and Francis Moretti.

FUNERAL NOTICE
Funeral services for Marie M. Herforth will be THURSDAY, March 6, 2014 at 9:15 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Church with Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be WEDNESDAY, March 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
