Obituary for Marie "Ann" Antoinette Wicker
Marie “Ann” Antoinette Wicker, 92, of Pittsfield, passed away January 20, 2021 at Springside Nursing Facility.
Born in Medford, MA on August 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Tomasi Franchina.
She attended schools in Boston and was a 1945 graduate of Brandeis Vocational High School in Boston.
She married the late Philip W. Wicker on June 27, 1948. He predeceased her on March 23, 1994.
Mrs. Wicker worked as a waitress for the Stanley Club for 23 years. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, she enjoyed swimming, dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include her sons, Philip W. Wicker, Jr., and wife Kathleen of Pittsfield, and Peter A. Wicker and wife Kate of Georgia; four daughters, Andrea Kenny and husband Dean of Bedford, NH, Mary A. Busch with whom she resided, Ursula Martin and husband Bill of Georgia, and Celia Grand of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Sarah J. Connor of Medford, MA and Gloria Fernandez of New Mexico. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Franchina and her longtime companion, Anthony C. Esposito.
Services will be private with burial at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Food Pantry in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
