Obituary for Marguerite Bessie Menard

Marguerite Bessie Menard, 58, of 32 First Street, Pittsfield, died on August 9, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center, after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on November 6, 1955, daughter of Antonine Philias Menard and Ella J. Warner Menard, she attended schools in Great Barrington and was a 1976 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School.
Ms. Menard was employed at Darrow School in New Lebanon, N.Y., and later at the
Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough.
She enjoyed reading books, watching the Red Sox, and writing poetry. She loved
spending time with her grandchildren and daughters; and she loved animals, especially her
two cats, Frankie and Friskies.
Ms. Menard is survived by two daughters, Page Ellsworth of Great Barrington, and Marguerite Atwood of Pittsfield; two granddaughters, Brianna and Amber Failla; nine brothers
and sisters, Philias Menard of North Billerica, Mass., Ella Deane of Pittsfield, Anthony Menard of Piermont, N.H., Bernadette Menard of Pittsfield, Charles Menard of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.,
Barbara Hickle of Highland, Ind., Joseph Menard of Arizona, Peter Menard of Watertown, N.Y.,
and Florence Dooley of Pittsfield; several nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
She was pre-deceased by her father, Antoine P. Menard, her mother, Ella J. Menard, and her sister, Kathleen Rose Wilson.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Marguerite Bessie Menard will be held Friday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m, at First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield with Certified Lay Minister Stephanie Filiault officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dalton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her family (Marguerite B. Atwood) to help
defray funeral expenses. The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
