Obituary for Marguerite Viola Giansiracusa

Marguerite Viola Giansiracusa, 90, of 321North Washington State Road, Washington, Mass.,
died Friday, February 6, 2015, at Craneville Place of Dalton.
Born in Pittsfield on July 2, 1924, the daughter of Emile and Regina St. Onge Renaud, she was a
graduate of Pittsfield High School and was a graduate of the St. Luke Hospital School of Nursing.
A Korean War veteran, she enlisted with the United States Air Force on February 12, 1951, and
served as a First Lieutenant for much of her time at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She was honorably discharged on May 11, 1952.
Mrs. Giansiracusa had been employed as a registered nurse at the House of Mercy, St. Luke's Hospital, the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association, and
lastly as a nursing supervisor at Berkshire Medical Center.
Mrs. Giansiracusa was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and had been a communicant of
the former Notre Dame Church.
She was an animal lover. And, she loved chocolate.
She leaves the love of her life, Sebastino Giansiracusa, whom she married September 15, 1973.
Mrs. Giansiracusa is also survived by a stepdaughter, Mary Jarvie, of the Town of Washington;
two stepsons, Steven Giansiracusa of Pittsfield, and James Giansiracusa of San Marcos, California; as
well as six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and her devoted nieces and nephews, great
nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Marguerite Viola Giansiracusa will be held Friday, February 13, at 1:00
p.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with Deacon Pasqual Baldasaro officiating. Calling
hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street,
Dalton.
