Obituary for Margherita Rose Lombardi (Martucci)

Margherita Rose (Martucci) Lombardi, 78, of Dalton, MA, passed away February 4, 2022 at the home of her daughter Margherita, surrounded by family. Born in Winthrop, MA on February 20, 1943 to the late Augustino and Margaret Todesco Martucci.

She was a graduate of Winthrop High School. She married the late Vincent J. Lombardi, Sr., on January 19, 1964.

Margherita was a home health aide for many years, having worked for Ashmere Manor Nursing Home and Valley View Nursing Home. She also had over 40 private duty patients.

She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and was a former leader of the Campfire Girls. She loved spending precious time with her family, especially her great-grandson Rowen. She had a beautiful soul and loved with all her heart. She will be missed by so many. Her memory will live on by all those who loved her and were blessed to have known her.

She leaves behind her daughter, Margherita R. Hoffman and husband William of Hinsdale, MA; Son, Vincent J. Lombardi, Jr. of Dalton and grandchildren, Gabriella M. Lombardi of Pittsfield, Erik A. Hoffman and Summer Daley of Peru; Great-grandson, Rowen A. Hoffman of Peru; Brother, Dominic D. Martucci of Saugus, MA; Sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Martucci of Winthrop, MA and Theresa Guyette of Pittsfield. Former daughter-in-law Karen Lombardi as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and countless others she considered as extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Lombardi Sr.; Daughter, Ginamaria Lombardi; Grandson, Vincent J. Lombardi, III.; and her brother, Anthony E. Martucci.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Lisa Nelson, Dr. Sean Mullally and HospiceCare in the Berkshires.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held at St. Agnes Church, 489 Main Street, Dalton MA on Saturday February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am. At the request of Margherita there will be no calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
