Obituary for Margaret T. MacDowell
Margaret T. MacDowell, 91, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away due to COVID-19 on December 4, 2020 at Hillcrest Commons, where she resided for the last two years.
Born in Pittsfield on August 9, 1929, she was the daughter of John and Anna Marie Pelissier Mara and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She married the late Robert MacDowell on June 9, 1949 at St. Mark’s Church in Pittsfield. He predeceased her on November 10, 2004.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. MacDowell enjoyed dancing, playing BINGO and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
Survivors include her son, Robert MacDowell and wife Karen of Paul Smith, NY, Daughter, Peggy A. Kordana and husband Mark of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, Kimberly Enright, Eric Kordana, Everett Kordana, Quinn Kordana, Shane MacDowell and Mariah MacDowell. As well as four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John Mara and Charles Mara and three sisters, Betty Sheltry, Natalie Mara and Nanette Vuillmont.
