Obituary for Margaret T. Cady

Margaret T. Cady, 88 of 12 Park Circle Drive in Dalton passed away on Thursday at Mt. Greylock Extended Care in Pittsfield after a brief stay. Born in Pittsfield
on January 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Shea Cannon. A longtime Dalton resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1945 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Ms. Cady truly enjoyed her home and being a homemaker. She once worked at The New England Telephone Company and Berkshire Medical Center.
A communicant of St. Agnes Church, she enjoyed bowling, reading and following the Boston Red Sox. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family which was most important to her. She will always carry in her heart the memory of her much loved cats, Mittens and Cy. She leaves her son; Michael Cady and his wife Kelley of Pittsfield. Also two daughters; Kathie DiNicola and her husband Geno of Dalton and Melissa Cady of Dalton.
She is also survived by two brothers; Joseph Cannon of New Haven, CT and John Cannon and his partner Teresa Bragdon of Lee. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren; Gary DiNicola and his wife Amber, Brian DiNicola and his partner Amber, Quinten DiNicola, Jennifer Cimini and her husband Mike and Kelley Cady. Two great grandchildren; Haley Cimini and Heidi Cimini as well as her extended family; Adam Troiano and Daniel Troiano. She also leaves her former husband; Albert Cady of Dalton. The Cady family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Mt. Greylock Extended Care of Pittsfield for all of their outstanding care and compassion shown to their entire family.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Margaret T. Cady of Dalton who passed away September 15, 2016 will be held Monday at 9:15 AM from the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home in Dalton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Ms. Cady may be made to the Dalton Ambulance Fund or to the Berkshire Humane Society both in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
