Obituary for Madeline A. Miller

Madeline Alice Miller, 82, of Alice Drive, Hinsdale, formerly of Lanesborough, died Saturday, March 25. 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 11, 1934, the daughter of Claude and Mary Alice VanDerveer
Halsey, she was education in Lanesborough and Pittsfield schools and was a 1953 graduate of
Pittsfield High School where she played trumpet in the band. She later attended Berkshire Community College where she received an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts in 1992.
Mrs. Miller was employed by General Electric Company where she was an anodizer in
Naval Ordnance Systems Division. She retired in 1990 with 17 years service.
She enjoyed knitting, doing crossword and jig saw puzzles, and going to the casinos.
She was pre-deceased by her husbands, Edward A. Kucka, Jules E. Deloye, and Dexter P.
Miller. Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, Edward A. Kucka and his wife, Christine, of
Lanesborough; two daughters, Sharon L. Chapman and her husband, Gary, of Hinsdale, and
Lisa-Jo Bolognia and her husband, Anthony, of Lanesborough; a stepson, James Milller of
Dalton; five grandchildren, Shaun, Randy, Jeffrey, Krystal, and Sarah; two step grandchildren,
JJ and Brittnay, and nine great grandchildren, Camrin, Shaun, Mikayla, Randy, Nicholas, Alyssa, Ella, Lexie, Mason, and Brianna; and by her dog, Rambo.
She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Megan Kucka, who died in 1997.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Madeline Alice Miller will be held Saturday, April 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD.
A graveside service will be held SATURDAY. APRIL 8, 2017, at 10:00, at Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox with Rev. Noreen P. Suriner, Rector of St. Luke Episcopal Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Indian School in
care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
