Obituary for Madeline D. Emerson

Madeline Delia Emerson, 91, of 59 East Main Road, Peru, died Tuesday, November 5,
2013, at Linda Manor in Northampton.
Born in Pittsfield on September 6, 1921, a daughter of Jacob and Edith J. Harrington
Zahn, she was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Emerson was a cook at Wahconah Regional High School for 18 years retiring in
1980.
She was a member of the Hinsdale and Peru Senior Center.
She enjoyed art work and crocheting.
Her husband, Charles G. Emerson, whom she married October 19, 1940, died
January 4, 1992.
Mrs. Emerson is survived by five sons, William J. Emerson and his wife, Patricia, of
Phoenix, Ariz., Paul J. Emerson of Peru, Kenneth D. Emerson of Peru, Robert C. Emerson
and his wife Marianne of Dalton, and Edward A. Emerson of Peru; a daughter, Margaret D.
Goudreau and her husband Kenneth of West Brookfield, Mass.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by three sisters and two brothers.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Madeline Delia Emerson will be held Friday, November 8, at 11:30 a.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor of St. Agnes Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery in Peru. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Episcopal Church Building Fund in Dalton in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
