Obituary for M. Elizabeth Grucelski

M. ELIZABETH GRUCELSKI, 86, formerly of 179 Highland Avenue, Pittsfield,
died Wednesday evening at Epoch Senior Health Center at Brewster, in Brewster,
Massachusetts, where she had resided the past two years. Born in Tupper Lake, New York, October 4, 1919, a daughter of Albert W.
and Regina M. Carron Trombley, she was a 1937 graduate of Tupper Lake High School.
Mrs. Grucelski was an accomplished seamstress. For several years, she worked
at the former Holden & Stone Department store and later at the former Williams Sewing
Center in Pittsfield. She then did seamstress work, making draperies, from her home.
She retired in the 1960s.
She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. She enjoyed doing needlework,
making dolls, and music.
Her husband, Joseph C. Grucelski, whom she married October 18, 1941, at the
former Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield, died January 30, 2003.Mrs. Grucelski is survived by a son, Albert A. Grucelski of Sparks, Maryland;
two daughters, Joanne G. Bradford of Pittsfield and Elizabeth M. Grucelski of Wellfleet, Massachusetts; two brothers, Percy Trombley of Tupper Lake, New York and
Robert Trombley of Utica, New York; five sisters, Nita St.Onge of Tupper Lake, New
York, Theresa Riley of Tupper Lake, New York, Rita Pentlen of Chittanango, New York,
Bernadette LaBarge of Willis, Texas, and Florence Bressette of Toronto, Ontario,
Canada; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for M. ELIZABETH GRUCELSKI, who died
Wednesday, August 16, will be Monday, August 21, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by
Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. At the
request of Mrs. Grucelski, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in memory of Mrs. Gruzelski may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the
charity of one's choice in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield. Mrs. Grucelski leaves her daughter-in-law Marylou Voith-Grucelski, her son-
in-law, Earl Bradford; seven grandchildren, Michele Sondrini, Jeffrey Bradford, Suzanne
Bradford, Patricia Rand, Daniel Gratton, Roberta Hall, and Mark Gratton, her twelve
great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Louis Trombley and Joseph Trombley,
and two sisters, Patricia Trombley and Dora Mae Hayes.
