Lucille M. Pastore, 100, formerly of Dalton, MA, passed away December 26, 2020 at Mayflower Place Nursing and Rehab in West Yarmouth, MA following a short illness. She had been a resident of The Assisted Living Community At Thirwood Place in South Yarmouth since 2017.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on April 30, 1920 to the late Joseph and Clara Krieger Curry, she was educated in Pittsfield Schools and was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married the late Benjamin R. Pastore on January 29, 1939, he predeceased her on November 24, 2003.
Mrs. Pastore worked as a Junior Clerk at the Department of Public Welfare for eight years, retiring in 1975. At one time she worked for Beloit Jones.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton.
Mrs. Pastore is survived by her grandson, Anthony J. Pastore of Cambodia, and two step-grandchildren, Leslie Johnston of Australia and Wendy Johnston of Kennebunkport, ME. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughters, Carole A. Pastore-D’Attilio and Kathleen E. Pastore-Reyburn; a son, William J. Pastore; three brothers, Joseph “Bob”, Clayton “Walter”, and Albert “Bud” Curry; and five sisters, Marie (Clarke), Helen (Ahles), Elizabeth (Flynn), Grace (Daly) and Theresa (Sammon).
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the caring staff of Thirwood Place for the excellent care she received while in their community.
