Obituary for Lucia Diprimio

Mrs. Lucia DiPrimio, 92, of 161 Newell Street, Pittsfield, Ma. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. She has resided at Hillcrest Commons for the past 2 years. Born on February 10, 1914 in Turrivalignani province of Pescara, Italy a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angela Ferrante Mancini. She attended Italian schools. She came to the United States in 1958 settling in Pittsfield. Primarily a homemaker for 9 years she had been employed at the former St. Luke's Hospital and the former Pittsfield General Hospital in the housekeeping department. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and reading her bible. She was the wife of Antonio DiPrimio whom she married in Italy on November 14, 1935, he died March 7, 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Adelia Pellegrini of Pittsfield, Ma. A son, Dorino DiPrimio died at the age of 22 in Italy on August 3, 1958. She is also survived by Four Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lucia Mancini DiPrimio who died Dec. 21, 2006 will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker CSS, pastor. Burial services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph's Cemetery St. Jude Section. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to The American Heart Association or to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church both in care of the funeral home. Mrs. DiPrimio is lovingly survived by her son in law, Antonio Pellegrini and by her 4 grandchildren, Angelo Pellegrini and Dorina El Saddik both of Pittsfield, Carlo Pellegrini of Springfield and Cynthia Pellegrini of Rome, Italy. Also survived by her adored great grandchildren, Michael and Kassandra Spiller, Nicholas and Rachel Pellegrini, Samantha and Zachary El Saddik. Also survived by nieces and nephews in Italy including her nephew Dante DiPrimio of Ballston Spa, N.Y. She was predeceased by two brothers Donato and Nicola Mancini and by two sisters, Assunta Fidanza and Antonietta DiPrimio.
