Obituary for Lorraine Mary Kushi

Lorraine Mary Kushi, 74 of 55 Roberta Road, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Lorraine Kushi had a great love of life and she was equally passionate for her love of
family and friends. Whether by wheelchair, foot, or cha-cha, her presence alone immediately
lit up the room, making everyone feel welcomed and special in his or her own way. The powerful effect she had on her community is a rarity. It doesn't come around often and there's
no science behind her magic. It could have been her bubbly personality. Her good spirit. Her
constant need to give. Or the way she genuinely loved. Maybe it was a combination of it all.
But whatever it was, Lorraine found a way to touch the hearts of all loved ones and everyone
she met. She was a constant ray of sunshine, radiating happiness and love wherever life took
her. Lorraine Kushi's life was lived through love and to love.
Born in Pittsfield on November 11, 1941, the daughter of Ernest R. and Mary Giovanetti
Bonneau, she attended Pittsfield High School.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Kushi was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
She enjoyed shopping and cooking, and socializing. Family was her greatest joy,
especially attending her children's and grandchildren's activities.
Mrs. Kushi leaves her husband, Thomas F. Kushi, Jr., whom she married June 22, 1963.
She is also survived by two daughters: Karen Quinn and her husband Ed of Pittsfield and Kathleen Righini and her husband Stephen of Salem, New Hampshire; a son: Thomas F. Kushi, III
and his wife Carmel of Pittsfield; a sister: Debra Purcell and her husband Michael of Pittsfield; six grandchildren: Marissa, Ashlee, Stephen, Gina, Shane, and Oliver; a great grandchild: Aiden; and many nieces and nephews.
