Obituary for Lorraine A. Deane

Lorraine Agnes Deane, 87, of Washington, MA passed away December 15, 2020, under the expert care of the staff at Fairview Commons.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on May 8, 1933, she was the daughter of John and Beatrice Lampron Campbell. A 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School, she married the late Alfred Deane on February 7, 1953. He predeceased her in November of 1987.

Mrs. Deane worked as bookkeeper for many years, having working for General Electric, LP Adams, the former Mapleview and Valleyview Nursing Homes, the Christian Center and Elder Services of Berkshire County, where she retired in 2001.

She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and enjoyed baking, sewing and knitting. She and her husband owned and operated Raymond’s Market in Becket from 1973 to 1979. At one time she served as a Town Officer in Washington, Town Clerk, Treasurer and Tax Collector, ending in 2007.

Mrs. Deane is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie Levernoch and husband Mark of Washington, MA, Yvonne Morrow and husband Jake of Washington, MA and Mary Deane of Rockland, MA; grandchildren, Jessica Sampson and husband Dave, Timothy Levernoch and wife Dawn, Joshua Wendling and significant other, Mollie Tatro, Daniel Wendling, Kayla Hadsell and wife Evelynn; great-grandchildren, Evan, Bryanna, Emma, Thomas Izaah, Kileah.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Deane; brother, John “Jack” Campbell, and two sisters, Marie Eames and Joan Cadman.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, December 21, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The American Cancer Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
