Obituary for Levi M. Andrews

Levi M. Andrews Jr., 76, of 4 Columbia Street, Adams, MA died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on August 12, 1931 in Adams, MA he was the son of the late Levi M. Andrews Sr. and the late Anna Levesque Andrews. He was educated in Adams schools and had resided in Adams for the past five years. Prior to that he was a longtime resident of North Adams. Mr. Andrews was employed as truck driver for over thirty years. He had worked at Climax Candy in North Adams for twenty years retiring in 1994. Prior to that he had worked at Butler Wholesale in Adams, Whitney & Son Produce of Pittsfield and at the former Adams Supermarket as a clerk many years ago. After his retirement he worked part time at JB Paper Company in Pittsfield. He was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. He enjoyed going to bingo in Adams, Pownal, VT and Pittsfield. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and dog racing. He was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox. He leaves two sons; David P. Andrews of Adams and Christopher J. Andrews of Cheshire. A daughter; Michelle A. Dargie of Cheshire and a sister; Doris Kupiec of Adams. He also leaves three brothers; Raymond Andrews of Pittsfield and Leonard and George Andrews both of Adams. He also leaves his former wife, Donna L. Dargie of North Adams. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the late Norma Pellerin Andrews and by a son, the late Alan Andrews who died in 1960 and by a brother, the late Robert Andrews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Levi M. Andrews Jr., 76, of Adams who died October 27, 2007 will be Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will take place at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home. Mr. Andrews also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Marcia Andrews, Shayla Malloy, Matthew Andrews, Sarah Andrews, Steffani Brothers, Amber Brothers and Nathan Kondel and his great grandchildren: Alexis and Kylie Malloy. He also leaves his daughter-in-law, Leah Andrews(David) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
