Obituary for Leo Edward Jarrett

Leo Edward Jarrett, Jr., 79, of Dalton, passed away Thursday December 26, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pittsfield on August 1, 1934, the son of the late Leo E. and Viola Maxwell Jarrett, Sr. He was educated in Pittsfield schools and served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1963.
Mr. Jarrett served as a firefighter for the Pittsfield Fire Department from 1964 until he retired in 1988 due to ill health. After retirement, he worked for H & S Automotive for over five years. Leo enjoyed fishing, going to the Casinos and Resorts, dining with friends and families at restaurants in China Town as well as at the China Clipper. He will always be remembered as "always there when needed for his family and grandchildren".
Mr. Jarrett married the former Norma M. Fitch on February 11, 1956. Besides his wife, Leo is survived by his two daughters: Ann C. Kuni and her husband Erwin of Dalton, and Judith A. Jarrett-Lamke and her husband Jarrett Lamke of Richmond; three grandchildren: Rachael and Dana Kuni, both of Florida, and Jorel Hebert of Pittsfield. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert Jarrett.

FUNERAL NOTICE
Funeral services for Leo E. Jarrett, Jr. will be private with burial in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 E. Main St., Dalton is in charge of arrangements.
