Obituary for Leila L. Leighfield

LEILA L. LEIGHFIELD, 69, of Capitol Square Apartments, died Friday morning
at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, October 23, 1936, a daughter of Nelson and Mildred Miller
LaFountain, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and of Berkshire Community
College.Mrs. Leighfield was employed the City of Pittsfield as a secretary for the
Pittsfield Civil Defense office for 27 years retiring in 2001. She had also worked for
Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts and had been a waitress at the former Duck Soup restaurant in
Lanesborough.She was a member of the Quilting Guild for which she held a yardage card. She
was a seamstress who also enjoyed crafts.
Mrs. Leighfield is survived by two sons, Paul Daury of Port St. Lucy, Florida, and
Lawrence Daury of Lanesborough; a daughter, Jeanne Christiana of Pittsfield; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and her former husband, Lawrence P. Daury, Sr.
