Obituary for Lee S. White Jr.

LEE S. WHITE, JR., 51, of 360 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, died Monday,
February 7, at Berkshire Medical Center, after a long illness. Born in Torrington, Connecticut, on April 28, 1959, to Lee S. and Mary Sherman
White, the family moved to Becket in 1975, where he attended Wahconah Regional High
School. Lee enlisted with the United States Army on November 29, 1976. He was an
Aircraft Crewman working as a Helicopter Mechanic. Lee served a three-year tour of duty overseas. On January 15, 1980, he was promoted to Sergeant. He was honorably discharged on May 28, 1983. Upon discharge, he moved to Texas where he was employed by Lockheed Aircraft.
In 1987, Lee returned to The Berkshires where he lived in Becket and in Pittsfield. He went on to graduate form the Atlantic Culinary Academy. He applied his craft at several area restaurants.
At the time of his death, Lee was a resident and serving on the Board of Soldier
On in Pittsfield.
He was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed the New York Mets and Oakland Raiders.
In addition to his parents, Lee is survived by one son, Lee S. III (Trey) of
Pittsfield. He is also survived by one sister, Lynette Bartos of Groton, New York, and
one brother, Richard White of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He also leaves two aunts and
three uncles, especially his very close uncle, Philip W. Sherman; two nephews in Groton,
New York, and one niece and nephew in Hobro, Denmark. He is also survived by his son
Trey's mother, Sue Wall of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for LEE S. WHITE, JR., will be held Saturday, February 19,
at 1:00 p.m., at Soldier On, 360 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in his memory may be made to Soldier On or to the American Heart
Association both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
