Obituary for Lee S. Danford

Lee S. Danford, 46, of 39 Ashmere Drive in Hinsdale passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Bay State Medical Center after a long illness. Born on March 7, 1969 in Pittsfield, she is the daughter of Helen Pernie Phillips of Alpina, Michigan and the late Stephen J. Phillips.
She was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1987 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, she also attended the Mildred Elley School. Lee had worked as a bus driver for Bruce Transportation with the Central Berkshire Regional School District for several years. She had also worked as a nurse's aide at the former Ashmere Manor Nursing Home in Hinsdale and at the Homeless Shelter as a dietician. She stopped working in 2000 due to ill health. She enjoyed native American history and relics, collectibles and flowers. She also enjoyed animals and gardening as well as horseback riding. Besides her mother, she leaves her husband, retired Pittsfield Police Sergeant Gary W. Danford of Hinsdale. A son; Nathan J. Danford and his fiancé' Shannon of Becket. A grandson; Caiden J. Parker of Dalton and her step-daughter; Tina M. Kickery of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by her step-son; Scott M. Danford and by her step-daughter; Corey M. Danford.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lee S. Danford, 46, of Hinsdale who died July 25, 2015 will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton conducted by the Rev. Jennifer Kimball, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Hinsdale. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home. Memorial donations in memory of Lee may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA
