Obituary for Leah Marcella Archey

Leah Marcella Archey, age 100, formerly of Kensington Avenue, Pittsfield, died Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 13, 1915, the daughter of George and Selina Perron Hooper, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Archey was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had been a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church.
She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, and reading, and spending time with her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Her husband, Edward E. Archey, whom she married May 8, 1937, at Notre Dame Church, died December 27, 2004.
Mrs. Archey is survived by four daughters, Regina Decker of Pittsfield, Jean Archey of
Cornville, Arizona, Joan Monterosso of Pittsfield, and Patricia Archey of Worcester; three
sons, Edward Archey, Jr., of Troy, Michigan, Richard Archey of Pittsfield, and Lawrence Archey of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Gladys Hajicek.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Leah Marcella Archey will be Friday, December 11, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday morning, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME
in Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Archey may be made to St. Joseph
Church in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
