Obituary for Lawrence E. Lane

LAWRENCE E. LANE, 82, formerly of 101 Elaine Drive, Pittsfield, died Sunday, February 22, at Providence Care Center of Lenox, where he had resided since May 2006.
Born in Pittsfield, June 11, 1926, a son of Patrick and Margaret Kennedy Lane,
he was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School and a graduate of Albany
Business College.
Mr. Lane was employed by General Electric Company as a machinist in the
Power Transformer Department for19 years retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he had been
employed as a stockman with the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill for 24 years.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of the
Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing and was a Red Sox fan. Mr. Lane's wife, the former Arminda B. Boino, whom he married September 1,
1956, at Sacred Heart Church, died February 20, 2008. He is survived by a brother, Joseph Lane of San Jose, California; his cousins, Edward M. Kennedy and his wife, Shirley, of Pittsfield and Dr. Robert Stanton and
Joyce; several nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Lane, Mary Tranquilli, and Genni Lane.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for LAWRENCE EUGENE LANE, who died Sunday, February 22, will be Wednesday, March 4, at 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church,
celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael the
Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of
flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Lane may be made to Sacred Heart Church in
care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
