Obituary for Lawrence J. Goggia

Lawrence James Goggia, 65, of Richmond, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at
Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on February 22, 1947, a son of Roger A. and Lena C. Jenne
Goggia, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Berkshire Community
College. Mr. Goggia had been employed by General Electric Company where he was a
Laboratory Technician in the Ordnance Systems Division for twenty years. Prior to that,
he had worked in Quality Control at Cavallero Plastics for ten years.
Mr. Goggia was a fifty-year member of the Pittsfield Sportsmen's Club where he was very, very active, including serving as its Treasurer for forty years.
He is survived by two brothers, Alfred R. Goggia and his wife, Evelyn, of Pitts-
field, and Thomas C. Goggia of Maui, Hawaii; as well as an uncle, Michael Rocheleau of Pittsfield; a niece, Deborah Goggia, of Pittsfield, and a nephew, James Thorpe of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Lawrence James Goggia will be held Monday, January 7, at 12:00 noon at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Richard E. Hayes, Chaplain of HospiceCare in The Berkshires, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service
beginning at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Goggia may be
made to the Pittsfield Sportsmen's Club or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, both
in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
