Obituary for Lawrence "Butch" Baker
Lawrence "Butch" L. Baker, 82, formerly of Cheshire, passed away February 7, 2023.
Born in Pittsfield on February 15, 1940, he was the son Mildred Baker.
Mr. Baker attended local schools.
He married the love of his life, the former Rose Sagendorph on August 5, 1966. She predeceased him on March 8, 2020.
Butch was a proud union member of Operating Engineers Local 98 and the Teamsters Local 404. He cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Slonski and significant other, Dean Vaccaro of Pittsfield, and Colleen M. Baker-Martin and husband James Martin of Pueblo, CO. Two grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron Martin and fiancé, Keana Roath of Colorado. He also leaves behind close friends and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Mildred Ketcham, Ruth Ditore, Connie Jacobs, Claudia Silvagni and Fred, Kenneth, and Eddie Baker.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral home services will be held, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the charity of one's choice.
