Obituary for Kim E. Lavigne

KIM EVAN LAVIGNE, 51, of 333 Onota Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, July 9, 1955, the son of Gertrude Stickles, he was raised by foster parents, Herbert E. Sabin and the late Harriet E. Sabin. He was a 1974 graduate of Taconic High School. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Lavigne was last employed in maintenance by Starbase Technologies where he had worked the past three years, and prior to that was employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools as a custodian for seven years. In earlier years, he was employed as a pressman for the former Schaeffer Eaton Textron
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed boating, fishing,
and water skiing, playing pool, and playing yahtzee. Mr. Lavigine leaves his wife, the former, Marianne C. Stryjewski, whom he
married January 14, 1989, having shared their life since l977. Besides his wife and his foster father, Mr. Lavigne is survived by a brother,
Paul Lavigne of Enfield, Connecticut; a foster Brother, Wayne Wick of Dalton, and a
foster sister, Wendy Streeter of Dalton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for KIM EVAN LAVIGNE, who died Sunday, February 25,
will be Thursday, March 1, at 8:l5 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m, at the Funeral Home. Mr. Lavigne also leaves his sister-in-law, Joanne Neidig and her husband, Bennett
Neidig of Bradenton, Florida. He was pre-deceased by his foster brother, Glenn Sabin
and his foster sister, Marilyn Connor.
