Obituary for Kevin T. Sedgwick

Kevin T. Sedgwick, 61, longtime Dalton native, of 66 Dexter Street in Pittsfield died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on April 5, 1955 in Pittsfield, he was the son of Thomas and Victoria Sylvia Sedgwick of Dalton. He was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1973 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School where he served as his class president. He furthered his education at Berkshire Community College where he graduated in 1975 with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Western New England College in 1979. He then received his Master of Science degree in Business Administration from Lesley College in Cambridge in 1984. Kevin was employed as a human resource consultant for over thirty years at Tyco Inc. in Boston, Raytheon, Wang and Computer Vision. He retired in 2008 due to ill health. An avid Indian artifact collector, he also enjoyed collecting rocks, running, visiting in Maine and cross country. He leaves his parents; Thomas and Victoria Sedgwick of Dalton. His wife, Suzanne Kidder Sedgwick of Pittsfield whom he married on September 16, 2006. Three daughters; Elizabeth M. Chupp and her husband Ryan of Evansville, IN, Mary Ellen Brewster and her husband Banks of Ft. Branch, IN and Abigail L. Elpers and her husband Jason of Newburgh, IN. A step-daughter; Monique J. Grosz and her husband Jeremy of Pittsfield and a step-son; Mathieu Massaconi of Pittsfield. He also leaves his sister; Karen S. Dalzell and her husband Theodore of Pittsfield. Seven grandchildren; Piper R. Chupp, Matthew L. Brewster, Anderson M. Brewster, Nicholas M. Grosz, Dakota M. Grosz, Sasha N. Grosz and Troy Massaconi. His nephew; Brett B. Dalzell and his niece; Ashley V. Pope. He was predeceased by a grandson; Keegan T. Chupp.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Kevin T. Sedgwick, 61, who died May 9, 2016 will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL in Dalton conducted by the Rev. Stephen A. Smith, pastor of Pilgrim Holiness Church in Pittsfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home in Dalton. Memorial donations in memory of Kevin may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
