Obituary for Kenneth R. Larabee Sr.

Kenneth R. Larabee Sr., 83, of 7 Dublin Road in Cheshire died Monday, January 11, 2016 at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility. A longtime Cheshire resident, he was born in North Adams on July 9, 1932, a son of the late Benjamin and Mabel Jones Larabee. He was educated in Williamstown schools and proudly served his country in the United States Army. A longtime car salesman, Ken had owned and operated Ken's Motors in North Adams and then Cheshire Auto Sales with his wife Sandra. He had worked in auto sales for over thirty years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Ken was the founder of the Northern Berkshire Bass Club and a past president of the Tunnel City Bass Club. An outdoorsman, he took great joy in being on the water in his boat. He leaves his wife of forty-two years, Sandra Moran Larabee of Cheshire whom he married on February 4, 1977. Three sons; Michael Larabee of Cheshire, Christopher Larabee of Cheshire and Kenneth Larabee Jr. of Clarksburg. Two daughters; Donna Roberts and Deborah Rock both of North Adams. He also leaves many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial for Kenneth R. Larabee Sr. who died January 11, 2016 will be private at his request. There are no calling hours. An avid fisherman, Ken would like memorial donations in his memory to be made to the Pittsfield Conservation Commission Wild Acres Free Youth Fishing Derby to be held in May of 2016 at Wild Acres in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
