Obituary for Kenneth J. "Gunny" Lampro
Kenneth John (Gunny) Lampro, 87, of Pittsfield, passed away July 18, 2022 at Hillcrest Commons.
He was born in Becket, MA on February 17, 1935 to Henry and Doris Lamountagne Lampro, and was educated in Becket, MA schools.
Mr. Lampro was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.
He was employed by Crane and Company for 44 years as a steam fitter and in maintenance, retiring in 2000.
Kenneth was a lifelong resident of the Berkshires.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth J. Lampro, Jr., and wife Tamara of Eauclaire, WI, Bonnie J. Stapleberg and husband Ronald of Cummington, MA, Harold E. “Ed” Lampro of Pittsfield, Joseph White of Pittsfield and Nancy White of Pittsfield. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held, Monday, July 25, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow at North Becket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
