Obituary for Kay Ann Harris
Kay Ann Harris, 83 of Hinsdale, passed away February 7, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Kay was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1957 graduate of Dalton High School.
She married Robert William Harris, Sr. on August 3, 1957 at Dalton United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on March 11, 2008.
Mrs. Harris was primarily a homemaker. At one time she had been employed at Crane and Company in the finishing department and also at Garv’s Grill in Dalton for several years.
She enjoyed volunteering for many years at the Leeds VA Hospital. She also took pleasure in playing Bingo, hiking in the woods, and had a great love for animals and helping others.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her children, Rob Harris and Judi of Windsor, Dawn Harris of Hinsdale, Daryl Harris and Jeana of Pittsfield, and Audra Love of Pittsfield. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her brother, Tim Walsh of Alaska, and sisters, Peggy Harris of Pittsfield, Pam Richo of FL, Pat Halzack of VA, Priscilla Bock of CT and Dolores Kroc-Bluffton of SC.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Billy Sudik.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held, Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2 pm at Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St, Dalton. Calling hours will precede the service from 12 to 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Legion Riders in care of the funeral home.
