Katie F. Walker, 87 of Pittsfield, passed away at Berkshire Medical Center on December 21, 2022.
Born in Nina, AL on April 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Aima McIntosh. She attended Camden Academy in Camden, AL, and later moved to Pittsfield where she was a cook for the City of Pittsfield for 20 years and was a part-time caregiver for the elderly for 30 years.
Katie was a member of Second Congregational Church, and was a songstress. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and sitting outside.
Katie married Pastor Norman P. Lee on February 13, 1999, and together they raised Tricia Lee who was her daughter by marriage.
Katie is survived by her husband, Norman, her daughter by marriage, Tricia Lee; two grandchildren, Derrick and Tyanna. Her nephew from previous marriage, Jason Walker, Sr. and wife Tina, whom she helped raise and helped raise his son JJ Walker, Jr.; her Godchild, Demetria Bacon; her adopted granddaughter and Godchild, YaLonni Johnson-Smith and two brothers and their mother. She also leaves her special nieces, Amieko Watson, Sallye Woods, and Joyce Wright. As well as many other friends and family.
She was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Juanita Bell, David (VonEster) McIntosh, Herbert (Ruth) McIntosh, Willie (Jean) and Macy (Richard) Blackmon.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held, Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Second Congregational Church in Pittsfield. Calling hours will precede the service at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
