Obituary for Kathryn Maynard
Kathryn Biever Maynard, born in 1934 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Russell and Helen Biever of Marysville, PA. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and Vermont College.
She met her husband George at Norwich University in Vermont. They married in 1954 and had three sons, Dale, Dean, and Steven.
She worked for Dr. Ellison in Williamstown for many years as a medical secretary and the office manager. She also ran the Jiminy Peak Ski shop for many years. She learned to ski and traveled all over the US and Europe, connecting with many skiing friends.
Kay was a talented watercolor and oil painting artist as well as an accomplished quilter. She also was an excellent church organist, playing in the North Troy, VT Congregational church for over 15 years. Kay was also an avid gardener.
Besides her three sons, Kay also leaves behind her Sister Barbara, five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours, in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
