Obituary for Katherine S. Shaw

KATHERINE SHEILA SHAW, 74, of BerkshireTown Apartments, Pittsfield,and former longtime resident of Lanesborough, died Thursday, May 29, at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center in East Longmeadow where she had resided the past month. Born in Pittsfield, February 7, 1934, a daughter of Thomas A. and Mary
ConCannon Atkinson, she attended Pittsfield Schools and was a 1958 graduate of the
Pittsfield Vocational School of Practical Nursing.Mrs. Shaw was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former St.
Luke's Hospital now a part of Berkshire Medical Center from 1958 until her retirement
in 1986. She was a former member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary of
Lanesborough. She enjoyed her family and helping friends and neighbors.
Her husband, Lawrence H. Shaw, whom she married August 19, 1950, at St.
Charles Church, died June 19,1994.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by a son, Mark L. Shaw of Melbourne, Florida; two
daughters, Nancy J. Jacobs and her husband, Ralph, of Quincy, Massachusetts, and Kim
M. Ford and her husband, Alan, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts; a brother, John
Atkinson and his wife, Genevieve of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Joshua Shaw, Molly
Jacobs, Christian Jacobs, and Gabrielle Pignone; seven great grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Mary T. Stone.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for KATHERINE SHEILA SHAW, who died Thursday, May 29,
will be Monday, June 2, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. Peter A.
Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
