Obituary for Julia K. Berezowskyj

JULIA K BEREZOWSKYJ, 34, of 63 April Lane, Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning at her home.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, October 3, 1973, the daughter of Mary Rywak Berezowskyj and the late Walter Berezowskyj, Jr., she was educated in Texas and Lenox schools, and was a 1992 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School. She was a 1994 graduate of Berkshire Community College where she earned an associates degree in liberal arts and, in 2006, earned a bachelor degree in history from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Ms. Berezowskyj was employed as a house manager for Sullivan & Associates, caring for special needs individuals, from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that she had worked two years at Valleyhead School in Lenox.
Ms. Berezowskyj was a past member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic
Church. She enjoyed her work with children and with mentally challenged individuals. She also enjoyed architecture, art, knitting, and embroidery. Ms. Berezowskyj leaves her husband, Sadia Fofana, whom she married November 29, 2002, in Pittsfield.
Besides her mother of Pittsfield and her husband, Ms. Berezowskyj is survived by two brothers, Walter J. Berezowskyj of Pittsfield and David Smith of the state of
California; and a sister, Lesia M. Berezowskyj of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for JULIA K. BEREZOWSKYJ, who died Tuesday, January
22, will be Saturday, January 26, at 9:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Contributions in memory of Julia may be made to the Pediatric Development Center in
Pittsfield, to continue to Julia's care and concern for children with special needs, in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.

Julia also leaves her niece, Nadya Marie.
