Obituary for Judith M. Carter

Judith M. Carter, 91, a lifetime resident of Dalton, died at the Sugar Hill Assisted Living facility in Dalton, where she spent the last eighteen months of her life.

Judith was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on August 9, 1931, to Clymer and Anna Dunbar. She attended the Dalton school system, graduating from Dalton High School in 1949.

On May 12, 1951, Judith married Charles C. Carter. They enjoyed sixty-nine years together until Charles’ passing in April of 2021.

Judith is survived by two sons: Paul Carter and his wife Janet of Dalton; and Alan Carter and his wife Debbie, residents of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She also leaves four grandchildren: Kevin Carter, Jessica Rock, Jason Carter and Andrew Carter, as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Carter is also predeceased by her sister, Phal Dunbar Jenks.
Following cremation, Judy will be interred alongside her husband at the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton.

At Judith’s request, there will be no calling hours or formal funeral service.

The family would like to express their profound appreciation to the staff at Sugar Hill for the care, concern and professionalism afforded Judith during her time there, especially during her final days.
