Obituary for Juanita C. Naranjo

JUANITA CARMEN NARANJO, 79, formerly of Pittsfield, on Tuesday,
December 18, 2012, in Franklin, Tennessee.
Born in Pittsfield on August 2, 1933, a daughter of Jose C. and Carmen Scaffo
Naranjo, she was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School and a 1955 graduate
of Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee. Continuing her education, she earned her
masters degree from the University of Hartford in 1962.
Miss Naranjo was employed by the Department of Defense as a teacher for the
dependent children of United States military personnel, twenty years of which were spent
in Germany. Prior to that, she had taught in the Hartford (Conn.) Public Schools.
Miss Naranjo is survived by her sister, Rita Buzzard and her husband, Robert, of
Palmyra, Virginia; and her brother, Charles, and his wife, Gilda, of Natick, as well as
several cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Juanita C. Naranjo will be held Saturday, April 13, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter
A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The DERY FUNERAL
HOME is in charge of arrangements.
