Obituary for Joyce T. Kalinowsky
JOYCE T. KALINOWSKY, 80, of 176 Columbus Avenue, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on November 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Francis and Lucy
Driscoll Weir, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1951 graduate of
St. Joseph Central High School.
Mrs. Kalinowsky had been Office Manager for Girardi Distributors for many years and for the former Dairy Center of The Berkshires. She retired in 1992.
She was a communicant of St. Charles Church.
She enjoyed playing cards, her casino trips, and going to the ocean. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and was good at giving advice.
Her husband, Michael Kalinowsky, whom she married March 22, 1954, in New
Lebanon, New York, died August 28, 1991.
Mrs. Kalinowsky is survived by two daughters, Michele A. Pompi of Longmont,
Colorado, and Susan E. Holden and her husband, Keith, of Pittsfield; a son, Michael S.
Kalinowsky and his wife, Elaine, of Pittsfield; a sister, Ann Williams of Pittsfield; nine
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Eugene M. Kalinowsky, who died in December 2007, and by three sisters and a brother.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Joyce T. Kalinowsky will be held Friday, December 21, at
9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00
a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude
Children's Hospital in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
