Obituary for Joyce A. Beals
Joyce Ann Beals, 71, a resident of Mount Carmel Care Center, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 22, 1945, daughter of the late Ernest F. and Evelyn Armstrong
Burnell, she was a graduate of Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Beals was employed most of her life at the former Rice Silk Mill. She had worked
at WalMart and at the former Lenox House Restaurant.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Beals is survived by a son, William "Rusty" Beals, and his fiancée, Barbara Snow of
Pittsfield; two daughters, Terri Bentz and her husband, Eric, of Pittsfield, and Janet Beals of
Pittsfield; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a sister, Kathy Ballard of Tampa,
Fla., and an aunt, Marge Strolin of Lenox.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Joyce Ann Beals will be held Monday, July 18, at 1:00 p.m., at DERY
FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Cricket Cooper, Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at
11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in
care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
