Obituary for Josephine B. Daviau
Josephine B. Daviau, 82 of Pittsfield, passed away January 17, 2023 at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Cheshire, MA on December 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Stella Malkowski Daviau.
She was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Ms. Daviau had been employed at Royal Cleaners for most of her life. At one time she had worked at Crane and Company in the stationery department.
She was a former communicant of St. Charles Church. She also was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, where she was a member of the St. Ann’s Society and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Ms. Daviau leaves behind her sons, David Daviau and life partner Deanne Pfister of Pittsfield, and Philip Daviau and life partner Sherri Ryan of Pittsfield. Her granddaughter, Crystal Chapman and husband Scott of Cheshire. Two great-grandchildren, Shaylee and William Chapman. As well as two sisters, Shirley A. Beaudin of Lanesboro and Louise M. Cooper of Pittsfield.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Polish Falcons of America in care of the funeral home.
