Obituary for Joseph D. Sheerin

JOSEPH DANIEL SHEERIN, 83, a resident of 27 Bernard Avenue for the past 56 years,
died Thursday at his home. Born in Pittsfield, October 28, 1923, the son of Joseph D. and Catherine E. Moynihan Sheerin, he was a 1941 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School.
A World War II veteran, he served in the United States Army from March 16, 1943
to April 17, 1946. Mr. Sheerin was employed by General Electric Company as an assembler in the Power Transformer Department for thirty-five years. He had also worked at Pittsfield News and as a school bus driver.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and was
a Boston Red Sox fan. Mr. Sheerin leaves his wife, the former Anne Murphy , whom he married April 15, 1950. He is also survived by a son, Timothy Sheerin, two daughters, Kathy Hart and Nancy O'Brien, all of Pittsfield, and nine grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for JOSEPH DANIEL SHEERIN, who died Thursday, January 4,
will be Monday, January 8, at 10:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Sheerin may be made to Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Sheerin also leaves his sons-in-law, Robert Hart and William O'Brien, his daughter-
in-law, Kelly Sheerin, and his nine grandchildren, George Tetreault, Daniel Sheerin, Meghan Sheerin, Patrick Sheerin, Callie O'Brien, Kevin O'Brien, Katie O'Brien, Emily Hart, and Michael Hart.He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary McGovern and Kathleen Lamont.
