Obituary for Joseph P. Muraca Jr.

JOSEPH PATRICK MURACA, JR., 60, of 31 East Grand Avenue, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, died Thursday afternoon at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, November 25, 1946, son of the late Joseph P.
Muraca, Sr., and Genevieve Harrington Muraca, he was a graduate of Wahconah
Regional High School. He continued his education at Northeastern University�St.
Luke's School of Radiology. He also earned a bachelor of science degree in business
from North Adams State College and a masters degree in business in administration
from Anna Maria College in Worcester.
He served in the United States Army as a Medic Corpsman during the VietNam
War. Mr. Muraca was employed as a radiological technician for many hospitals. He
retired from Goodall Hospital as Director of the Radiology Department.
He was a former communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. He enjoyed photography, was a Red Sox, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Muraca leaves his wife, the former Madeleine Riello, whom he married June 29, 1968.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Patrick J. Muraca of Pittsfield, a
daughter, Kathleen Carty of Charlton, Massachusetts, and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for JOSEPH PATRICK MURACA, JR., who died Thursday,
September 6, will be Tuesday, September 11, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., Pastor of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in memory of Mr. Muraca may be made to the Jimmy Fund�Dana Farber Cancer
Institute in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.Mr. Muraca leaves his two grandchildren, Christopher and Nathan.
