Obituary for Jonathan J. Catan
Jonathan James Catan, 32, of 93 Cromwell Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at
his home. Born in Pittsfield on June 30, 1982, the son of Lucille L. Lofaro Catan and the late Robert C.
Catan, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 2000 graduate of Taconic High School.
Mr. Catan had been employed as a welder for Lenco Armored Vehicles for four years.
Mr. Catan was active in the martial arts and was a member of Team Link Pittsfield. He enjoyed
sports and was an avid Giants fan, and enjoyed music, as well. He enjoyed family vacations at Hampton
Beach. Mr. Catan is survived by his mother, Lucille Catan, of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert Catan, of
Cheshire; a sister, Corinne M. Catan and her fiancé, David Chilcoat, of Pittsfield; his maternal grand-
parents, John and Genevieve Lofaro, of Pittsfield; three nieces, Crysta Catan, Chrissy Riello, and
Anna Chilcoat; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Jonathan James Catan will be held Monday, July 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at
the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
