Obituary for John M. Warner

JOHN MICHAEL WARNER, 64, of 117 Meadowbrook Lane, Cheshire, a longtime resident of Cheshire, died Monday morning at his home.
Born in Pittsfield, May 9, 1943, son of the late Arthur and Charlotte Fitzpatrick
Warner, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. Warner was employed by General Electric Company as a machinist in the
Ordnance Systems Division where he worked 35 years before retiring in 2001. Following G.E., he was employed by The Berkshire Eagle as a courier for three years.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He coached Farm
League Baseball in Cheshire and was active with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in
Troop 31 in Cheshire. He enjoyed drag racing, and was a member of the NHRA, a life-
long Red Sox and Bruins fan, and was an avid reader who also enjoyed hunting and
fishing. Mr. Warner is survived by his wife, the former Mary A. Reardon, whom he
married June 8, 1963, in Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield. Besides his wife, Mr. Warner is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Warner of
Pittsfield and Timothy M. Warner of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; three grandchildren.


FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services JOHN M. WARNER, who died Monday, January 14, will be
Thursday, January 17, at 10:15 a.m, from DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, with
a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church,
celebrated by Rev. Mark J. Burke, S.J., Administrator of St. Patrick and St. Raphael Parish in Williamstown. Burial will be in the Spring in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours
will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mr. Warner may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire
or to American Cancer Society in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire.
Mr. Warner is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Lori Warner, three grand-children, Morgan, Meghan, and Thomas, Jr., his sister-in-law, Sharon Talis, brother-in-law, Jerry Talis, and two nieces, Jennifer King and Kristen Formanek.
