Obituary for John R. Ryan

Pittsfield: John R. Ryan,87, formerly of 41 Clark Rd. Died Friday July 2, 2010 at Mt Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born in Pittsfield February 23, 1923 he was the son of the late James and Ruth Robbins Ryan. He was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was in WW11 in the U.S. Army. He worked at the General Electric Co. in Ordinance as a Production Supervisor for 43 years. He was a member of the Berkshire Full Gospel Church a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club, G.E. Pensioners Club, was a member of GEAA the Pittsfield V.F.W. League, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. He was married to the late Eleanor Leonardi Ryan they married May 10, 1947 and she died January 22, 1995. He is survived by one son Jeffrey M. Ryan and his wife Joyce of Southampton, Ma. One daughter Sheryl J. Martin and her husband Harold of Middlefield, MA and Four sisters Katherine Elmstron of Pittsfield, Eleanor Cronin of New York State, Jean Leonardi of Hinsdale and Barbara Allen of Pittsfield, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, he was pre-deceased by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Service: Funeral Services for John R, Ryan,87, who died Friday July 2, 2010 will be held WEDNESDAY at 9:15 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME with a funeral service at Berkshire Full Gospel Church at 10:30 AM on Elm St. with the Rev. Phyllis Hostetter, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on TUESDAY from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Missions at Berkshire Full Gospel Church in care of the funeral home 54 Bradford St. 0120
